NewsKiss singer skips gig due to heart problemsKiss frontman Paul Stanley bowed out of a concert in Southern California on Friday (July 27), citing heart problems as the reason. In a posting on his website, 55-year-old Stanley said that his heart began racing during Kiss' sound check. After being treated by paramedics, a cardiologist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center advised him not to perform for fear of risking his health. Stanley explained: "During sound check yesterday, my heart spontaneously jumped to 190 plus beats per minute where it stayed for over an hour necessitating paramedics to start an IV and give me a shot to momentarily stop my heart and get it into a normal pattern. "Not knowing if this episode was life threatening made it even more exhausting. After consulting with both the paramedics and a cardiologist at Cedar Sinai, they confirmed my worst fear. They said that I would put myself at risk if I tried to do the show." Stanley's bandmates decided to go on with the show at the Soboba Casino in San Jacinto, California -- approximately 90 miles east of Los Angeles. It was reportedly the first time the band performed as a trio. In response, the singer wrote: "I'm very proud of Gene, Tommy and Eric for carrying on without me. I apologize to anyone I disappointed and I'll make it up to you when I see you again." The Automatic plot first US headlining tour The Automatic have announced the details of their very first headlining tour of the US. Following on the heels of their Warped Tour appearances, the band will play several dates across North America in support of the Stateside release of their debut album, 'Not Accepted Anywhere'. The Welsh quartet are set to kick off the tour on July 26 at New York's Bowery Ballroom. They'll hit several major US cities as well as Toronto before wrapping things up on August 8 in Cincinnati, Ohio. |
